About Oxford Road Corridor

Oxford Road Corridor is a world-class knowledge quarter that transforms lives through research, innovation skills and education. A place where knowledge, business and culture thrive.

Stretching out south from St Peter’s Square in Manchester city centre, the Oxford Road Corridor has a unique concentration of knowledge, business and cultural assets. Within one square mile are two of the UK’s leading universities, the UK’s largest NHS foundation trust, and an extensive cluster of digital, technology and life science businesses.

The Oxford Road Corridor is home to 42,000 residents, 7,100 businesses, 81,000 students and 86,000 employees. The area accounts for 50% of Manchester’s life science businesses and 50% of Greater Manchester’s innovation assets.

Many of Manchester’s iconic music venues, auditoriums and exhibition spaces are based within the knowledge quarter alongside a thriving nightlife and an abundance of cafés, restaurants and bars.

The Oxford Road Corridor is overseen by a partnership comprising both The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester City Council, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Bruntwood, Manchester Science Partnerships, HOME, Royal Northern College of Music and representation from many of Manchester’s leading cultural institutions. A collaborative ethos enables the Oxford Road Corridor to capture opportunities and bring exciting projects to fruition.

Our Board is Chaired by Professor Malcolm Press and other members include: Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, Bev Craig, Esme Ward, Chris Oglesby, Professor Linda Merrick, Pat Bartoli, and Darren Banks.
