Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility
The Manchester Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility (WTCRF) provides a supportive, participant focused environment to host quality research of the highest scientific excellence from trial design to completion.
The facility provides state-of-the-art amenities for investigators undertaking high-quality clinical research and includes inpatient and outpatient areas, laboratories, imaging and technical support. The WTCRF has facilities to support extensive areas of research, including:
Cardiovascular, Dermatology, Epidemiology, Mental Health, Neurology, Oncology, Paediatric based and Rehabilitation Studies.
Since the facility opened in July 2002, over 375 studies have been approved, with around 100,000 participant visits recorded. Studies span a wide range of disciplines, led by investigators from their five Manchester partners:

- Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust
- University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust
- Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
- The University of Manchester
