Manchester: Integrating Medicine & Innovative Technology (MIMIT)

The University of Manchester and Greater Manchester NHS and Primary Care Trusts has joined forces to create MIMIT™ – an initiative which facilitates collaborations between clinicians, scientists, engineers and industry to develop innovative technology for patient benefit.

MIMIT™ seize opportunities to enable clinical problems to be identified more readily and most importantly, to improve patient outcomes by bringing innovative technology developments to fruition. MIMIT™ is the first translation outside the USA of the highly successful CIMIT® initiative for generating and developing innovations in medical and health technology.

MIMIT™ has identified senior representatives within each of its partner organisation to identity both clinical need and clinical exploitation potential in science and engineering. These ‘Site Miners’ are the catalyst for forming collaborative relationships amongst clinicians, scientists and engineers.
