London Road Fire Station

London Road Fire Station is the iconic former Manchester fire station building. It was opened in 1906, on a site bounded by London Road and is an almost perfect triangular shape with a central courtyard area. The building was given a Grade II* listed building rating by English Heritage in 1974 and closed as a fire station in 1986.

With its prominent location opposite Piccadilly train station and part of a central gateway to the city and adjacent to the Mayfield development area the building is a prime redevelopment site.

Manchester City Council are considering several options for the redevelopment of this iconic building.
