Capitol Theatre

Based in the heart of the Corridor, the Capitol Theatre is the theatre for Manchester Metropolitan University. The theatre is the performance space for students on the University’s acting courses within the Faculty of Art and Design.

The MMU School of Theatre is well known for training actors. The School receives more than 1,000 applications each year and has nurtured talents such as Steve Coogan, Bernard Hill, Anthony Sher, David Threlfall and Richard Griffiths.

The BA (Hons) Acting course is the only National Council for Drama Training accredited course in the North of England. Manchester is an ideal setting for students. Famous for its lively theatre and media environment, including 13 theatres and home to Granada and the BBC.
